In the fall of 2022, we traveled on the Viking Kara along the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam. We visited 4 countries - Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands. There was plenty of sampling of Alsatian wine (typically sweet) and fresh beer.

We had wonderful weather for our return visit to Strasbourg. In the Netherlands, one of the big highlights was the historical Kinderdijk complex, a network of functioning windmills. The purpose of these windmills is to pump water to keep the area from flooding.
