In February of 2018, we traveled to Colombia, visiting Bogotá, the cloud forest, and Los Llanos. Then, shortly after our return, Pat was given an opporunity to return in October. So we actually had two trips to Colombia within the year.

The country is fascinating and dynamic, investing vast sums in infrastructure as they put a difficult past behind them. Both Bogotá and Medellín are vital, safe cities. The countryside is amazing, with a huge diversity of nature, especially hummingbirds.

Of course, coffee is a major export of Colombia. We visited a boutique coffee shop in Bogotá and an active coffee plantation in Manizales.
