The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Reserve is justifiably famous for the large number of migratory birds that visit during the cooler winter months.

We had great luck with the Sandhill Cranes, who were there in great numbers. We even woke at the crack of dawn one morning to see the flyout, and were rewarded with a spectacular sunrise as well.
