In late August 2025, we left Reykjavik, Iceland on the Viking Mars. We'd arrived early, and took a local van tour around many of the highlights. Once on the ship, our itinerary took us around Iceland, then off to southwest Greenland. After that, it was a visit to the Maritime Provinces, followed by some days on our own in Manhattan.

Iceland was really spectacular and it was fascinating to experience an area so tied to geothermal activity. We visited 2 towns in Greenland, with a total population of under 5,000 people. They live a rough life. And that 5,000 count is roughly 10% of the entire country.
