The early winter of 2018 saw us visiting the Iberian penninsula - Portugal and Spain. The main thrust of the trip was a Viking River Cruise on the Douro in northern Portugal. The weather wasn't our friend, although the landscapes were lovely. We started in the capitol city of Lisboa, but the highlight of Portugal was its charming second city - Porto.

We started out in the beautiful city of Sevilla, in Spain. From there, we traveled to Granada to visit the Alhambra. We popped back into Spain during the river cruise and stayed overnight in the wonderful old town of Salamanca.
